We believe homeownership should be within reach for more people, and we're here to help make that goal a reality. Through a variety of local, state, and community assistance programs, eligible homebuyers may qualify for grants that can be used toward a down payment, closing costs, or other home purchase expenses.
Depending on the property location and program requirements, some grants may even be combined, helping you save even more on your path to homeownership.
Explore the opportunities below, and if you're considering buying a home, contact our Mortgage Team or call 410-534-4500, ext. 505. We'll help you identify programs you may qualify for and guide you through the available options to find the assistance that's right for you.
The Live Near Your Work (LNYW) program helps eligible full-time Hopkins employees purchase a home in select Baltimore City neighborhoods. Qualified buyers may receive up to $17,000 in grant assistance that can be used toward a down payment and closing costs, making homeownership more affordable while supporting investment in local communities. Learn more about eligibility and program details here: JHU Live Near Your Work and JHM Live Near Your Work.
The Buy Back the Block program, offered through Live Baltimore, provides eligible Baltimore City residents with a $15,000 grant to purchase primary residences in designated neighborhoods. Designed to encourage long-term community investment and neighborhood revitalization, the program can help reduce out-of-pocket homebuying costs for qualified applicants.
