Our History

Proudly serving the Hopkins community since 1971

1971

Supported by the administration, a small group of seven individuals from Johns Hopkins University convened for the first time. The National Credit Union Administration granted Johns Hopkins Federal Credit Union charter #20623. JHFCU became fully operational. The first office was in Gilman Hall

1972

Johns Hopkins Hospital was added into our field of membership.

2006

Membership expanded to include Johns Hopkins University students.

2013

Added Affiliate Hospitals into our Field of Membership (All Children’s, Howard County General, Sibley Memorial, and Suburban).

2021

Celebrated 50 years of serving the Hopkins community.

They explained the difference, got my information, and within a few minutes I had a decision. They were extremely helpful and efficient on the phone. In less than an hour I had the necessary funds in my hands. It was even very close to closing time (on a Friday mind you!) and they offered to assist if the branch was closed. What great service!
